FVPB / USSSA Memorial Day Recap

The 19th Annual Memorial Day tournament at Mile Square Park yielded the most teams in the tournament's history.  Now in the fifth year of partnering with USSSA Baseball, 114 teams gathered at the Fountain Valley Sports Park for a holiday weekend of baseball and remembering those who gave their lives to let us play such a wonderful sport whenever we choose.

East Long Beach Pony had the most successful weekend.  Taking home first place in 8-Under, 10-Under White and Blue divisions, and the 12-Under White Silver divisions,  This marks two straight strong Memorial Day performances from the East Long Beach PONY system, and they proved that they are a force to be reckoned with in the coming All-Star season.

Perennial PONY Powerhouses Charter Oak, Whittier, and Los Alamitos each found themselves with a 1st Place finish in the 6-Under, 8-Under, and 10-Under.  Cypress PONY and Seal Beach PONY found themselves taking home their first 1st Place finishs in the 7-Under and 8-Under Blue.

The Fountain Valley teams had another strong showing.  Finding themselves in Championship games in most divisions, the 12-Under Playoff bracket had three Fountain Valley teams out of four teams in the Semi-finals.  A special thank you to the FVPB volunteers and youth umpires who helped make the entire tournament a smooth and enjoyable one for everyone.

Thank you to everyone who spent their holiday weekend with us.  Here is a list of your Champions and Runner Ups.

See you on the fields
