Spring Classic Recap

11-Under:
After going 1-1 on Saturday, the Chino Hills Dirt Dawgs were ready to take control on their hometown fields.

After a convincing 8-0 quarter final victory, they faced the Irvine Knights.  The Irvine Knights had given the Dirt Dawgs their one loss on Saturday.  Looking for a fresh outcome, Cameron Kessel took the ball on the mound.  Kessel threw 6 brilliant and scoreless innings against the 2nd Seed Knights.  Scoring 8 runs for the second straight game, they took another shutout victory into the Championship game.

Up against the 1st Seed YL Colts, the Dirt Dawgs did what they had to do to win.  They weren't able to shut out the Colts, but for the third straight playoff game, they scored 8 runs giving them an exciting Championship Victory.

13-Under:
The 13-Under tournament saw three of the five Gold Championship teams 2-0.  This left the Championship up for grabs.  3rd Seed FCBA Titans took on the 2nd Seed in their Semifinal game.  Pitcher James Turner threw 7 strong innings and kept the Titans in the ball game.  The Titans offense did what it had to do, scoring 6 runs to move them to the Championship game.

Up against the 1st Seed West Coast Hotshots, the FCBA Titans stuck to their game plan.  Solid defense held the hard hitting Hotshots to just three runs,  Not trying to do too much at the plate, the Titans picked at the 1st Seed, scoring 5 runs of their own and taking home the 1st Place trophy.
