Harvest Recap - November 21st, 2012

This time last year, the 2012 Season had already had its fair share of rainouts.  Thanks to our out of character warm weather this year, we haven't had a single rain out in the 2013 Season.  Even when it does rain, it's not enough to knock us off the fields.  At Fountain Valley, the rain that fell merely watered the fields and made them look fresher than ever.  In San Clemente, only one field needed some Quick Dry, and she was ready to play.  With a warm Thanksgiving weekend ahead, it might be a while before our first rainout (and that's fine with us).

Fountain Valley:
9-Under:
Entering Sunday as the 4th Seed, the Diamond Devils were ready to shake up the ranks.  Winning their Quarterfinal game 8-7, they advanced to face the 1st Seed HB Scrappers.  The Scrappers had beaten the Diamond Devils on Saturday, but the Diamond Devils were ready for them on Sunday.  In a nail biting game, the Diamond Devils were able to upset the 1st Seed in a 10-9 game.  Now on their third game of the day, the Diamond Devils were low on pitching, and unable to keep their momentum.  They found themselves against the Torrance Tribe.  The Tribe went undefeated on Saturday, including beating the Diamond Devils.  They were able to repeat history, and the Tribe took 1st Place.

11-Under:
The Ladera Grays American had an incredibly strong weekend.  Giving up no runs on Saturday, they entered Sunday as the 1st Seed.  Giving up only five runs in two games, and scoring sixteen on Sunday, they cruised to the first place position for the weekend.

Thank you to all the teams that played in the Harvest.  Here is a list of the Champions and Runner Ups.

See you on the fields
